Bankruptcy is a last resort, you should always see what you can get short of bankruptcy.

Unless you can prove paying the student loan would be an undue hardship, you cannot get rid of, or discharge, student loans in bankruptcy.

  1. I have read the article that has been linked here. I agree that there are certain debt companies that focus more on making fortunes by quenching the hard earned money of the debtors, rather then focusing on providing assistance. Unless the consumer himself does not gets aware as to choose the right kind of company for himself, and file a complaint against the cheaters, things are not going to change.
